The goal of the ASCET is to create and maintain a U.S. Center of Excellence to support U.S. engagement in international standardization for critical and emerging technologies (CETs) that are essential to U.S. economic competitiveness and national security.

The ASCET Center of Excellence will focus on four broad areas: 1) pre-standardization engagement; 2) workforce capacity building; 3) a collaborative pilot program with NIST in CETs; and 4) creating an information and data sharing hub.
