National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA)
Hae Choe serves as NEMA’s Managing Director of International Standards & Technical Services. As such, Ms. Choe oversees the development and execution of NEMA’s international strategy, coordination of NEMA’s international standards and conformity assessment activities, and relationship building with international, regional, and other national partners.
Internationally, Ms. Choe is the U.S. voting member on the IEC Standardization Management Board (SMB) and is on several strategic groups at IEC such as co-convening the Strategic Group 11 on Hot topics radar. She also serves as the General Secretary of CANENA, which is the organization that facilitates harmonization across the Americas. Nationally, she is the Vice President of Technical for the US National Committee of ANSI and chairs the USNC Technical Management Committee which manages the standards activities for the US mirror committees to the IEC. She also serves on the Appeals Board and the International Policy Advisory Group at ANSI.
Ms. Choe has extensive experience administering standards work and emphasizing collaborative and cohesive alignment among several international standards developing organizations. One of the key areas of focus for Ms. Choe is facilitating a way forward in positioning the Americas to have a stronger voice in international standardization.
The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) represents over 300 electrical equipment and medical imaging manufacturers that make safe, reliable, and efficient products and systems. NEMA is the voice for the electroindustry in North America.
