Senior Standards Advisor and Standards Executive

Renee Stevens serves as the DHS Senior Standards Advisor and Standards Executive, leading the operational integration of technical standards and the coordination of scientific experts and ultimate users aligned to National Security missions.
Ms. Stevens guides the strategic development and implementation of standards, conformity assessments in homeland security programs, supervising the coordination of standards related interdisciplinary projects for detection systems, telecommunications, artificial intelligence capabilities, and additionally advising on policy integration and collaboration across interagency and government platforms. Ms. Stevens chairs the DHS Standards Council, whose members are positioned on technical and forensic committees and partner with critical infrastructure managers and other government stakeholders to ensure the applicability of scientific capabilities for National Security mission operations. Through increased interagency collaborations and management of technologies, Ms. Stevens has aligned scientific and technical efforts to investigative and law enforcement efforts, resulting in increased strategic use of scientific solutions and awarded recognition by renowned standardization development bodies.
