Tania Olabi-Colón is the Marketing & Communications Manager for ASTM International’s ASCET Center of Excellence, where she leads strategic communications efforts that connect complex technical innovation with the people and communities shaping its future. Since joining ASTM in June 2026, she has been responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that transform emerging technology concepts into compelling narratives that inform, engage, and inspire action.
At ASCET, Tania will apply her twenty-plus years of experience in marketing, communications, digital transformation, and organizational growth towards translating advanced research, pre-standardization initiatives, and standards development activities into accessible, business- and policy-relevant communications that resonate with industry leaders, government stakeholders, academia, legislators, and the broader public. Her work focuses on helping diverse audiences understand not only what technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Quantum Technology, and other Critical and Emerging Technologies (CETs) are, but why their participation in the standards ecosystem matters.
A passionate advocate for inclusive engagement, Tania leverages communications as a bridge between highly technical communities and those whose expertise, lived experiences, and perspectives are critical to responsible technology advancement.
Prior to joining ASTM International, Tania spent thirteen years at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) as Director of Brand Marketing & Communications, where she led global branding and digital transformation initiatives that modernized engagement models and expanded organizational visibility worldwide. She also served as a Fractional Chief Marketing Officer and Principal of Vibe Marketing LLC, advising executive teams on growth strategy, communications, and technology-enabled organizational transformation.
Tania holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Rutgers Business School with concentrations in Marketing and Entrepreneurship and brings extensive experience in data strategy, technology communications, and AI adoption frameworks.
