Dr. Drummond is a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University focused on innovations in undergraduate education with a specific focus on expanding experiential design courses and professional practice preparation. His research centers on simulation and applied informatics; much of this has a strong translational focus, resulting in collaboration and secondary appointments in the School of Medicine and the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. Recent projects include the assessment of human performance with wearable technology and voice analytics for pathology detection and monitoring. He also develops “Moot Court” cases for undergraduate teaching that emphasize the importance of standards and their use in medical device design. Dr. Drummond previously served as Director of the Coulter-Case Translational Research Partnership and held a faculty position in the School of Nursing.
