Mohammad Farahi is the Grants Administration Manager with ASTM International’s Finance & Administration division. In this role, he supports the entire grant lifecycle—pre-award, award, and post-award—ensuring compliance with U.S. federal and international funding regulations while strengthening ASTM’s grants management systems.
With over a decade of experience in grants and contracts management, Mohammad brings deep expertise in compliance, financial oversight, and regulatory alignment. He has extensive experience with U.S. federal and international compliance frameworks, including 2 CFR 200, FAR/DFARS, NASA, NIST, UKRI, and EU Horizon regulations. His areas of proficiency include post-award administration, subrecipient management, proposal and budget development, and building institutional policies that ensure accountability and efficiency. Mohammad specializes in integrating compliance into strategic growth, enabling organizations to maximize funding opportunities while maintaining audit readiness.
Prior to joining ASTM International in 2025, Mohammad served as a Grants Manager at The Brookings Institution, where he managed post-award operations and proposal routing across U.S. federal and international government grants, including those funded by multilateral donors and foreign governments. From 2023 to 2024, he was a Grants Administrator at the Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF), leading proposal review processes, compliance monitoring, and portfolio management. Earlier in his career, Mohammad managed large-scale USAID-funded programs with IESC (Improving Economies for Stronger Communities) and Counterpart International, overseeing more than 200 Public-Private Alliances focused on civil society capacity building and economic growth.
Mohammad earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Ariana University. He also completed the two-year leadership program at the Institute for Leadership Development (ILD), strengthening his skills in organizational strategy, decision-making, and effective team management.
Mohammad was honored with the Tariq Nehban International Achievement Award by IESC–USAID in recognition of his exceptional contributions to grants implementation, management, and international development.
