New Report: Early Signals From the QED-C Quantum Workshop

The Early Signals From the QED-C Quantum Workshop report insights brief summarizes key observations from ASCET’s inaugural workshop on quantum technology standardization, held during the 2025 QED-C Annual Meeting. The session convened representatives from industry, startups, academia, standards organizations, and other stakeholders to explore emerging challenges related to quantum standards development, workforce readiness, and barriers to participation in the standards ecosystem.

Through facilitated discussions and breakout groups, participants examined foundational gaps in terminology, benchmarking, and performance metrics across the quantum ecosystem, as well as practical barriers that limit engagement in standards activities. The workshop also highlighted early workforce considerations, including the need for interdisciplinary training and greater awareness of the role standards play in accelerating innovation and market adoption.

New Report: Standardization Environmental Scan: Artificial Intelligence

This report provides a comprehensive overview of the current landscape of AI-related standards and standardization activities. Developed by the ASCET Center of Excellence, the report examines the organizations, initiatives, and frameworks shaping the development and use of AI standards across industry, government, and academia.

The environmental scan identifies key standards development organizations, existing standards and guidance documents, policy and roadmap efforts, and emerging areas where additional coordination or new standards may be needed. By mapping these activities, the report helps clarify how standards are evolving to support the responsible development, interoperability, and deployment of AI technologies across sectors. This report is intended to help stakeholders—including technology developers, policymakers, researchers, and standards organizations—better understand the AI standards ecosystem and identify opportunities for engagement in future standardization efforts.
